Sinopse: O mundo que conhecíamos não existe mais. Uma epidemia de proporções apocalípticas varreu o mundo fazendo com que os mortos se levantem e se alimentarem dos vivos. Em questão de meses, a sociedade desintegrou-se. Num mundo dominado pelos mortos, somos forçados a finalmente começar a viver. Baseado na série de quadrinhos de Robert Kirkman, essa série centra-se no mundo após um apocalipse zumbi, no qual um grupo de sobreviventes é conduzido pelo policia Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) na procura de um local seguro para viver. A história tem como seu ponto central o personagem Rick Grimes, policia que entrou em coma após ser atingido por um tiro numa acção de rotina da policia, durante o seu coma é que ocorre o Z-Day, ao acordar ele percebe que as coisas estão um tanto fora do normal, e ele vai em busca de encontrar a sua esposa Lori Grimes e o seu filho Carl Grimes...
